What Is An Energy Audit?
An Energy Audit is an investigation of all facets of an organization’s historical and current quantifying areas of energy waste and identifying strategies and action plans for optimizing energy use with the objective of identifying and quantifying areas of energy wastage within the organization’s activities.
Why An Energy Audit?

Steps of an energy audit
STEP 01 : Determination of the energy index and cost index for the facility.
STEP 02 : Identifying potential low-cost/no-cost energy efficiency, conservation upgrades, programmatic changes, expected annual energy consumption savings, energy demand savings and total energy cost savings (consumption + demand) resulting from those improvements.
STEP 03 : Review mechanical and electrical systems, installed conditions, maintenance practices, and operating methods.
STEP 04 : Review existing operating and maintenance problems.
STEP 05 : Measure key operating parameters and compare it to design levels.
STEP 06 : List possible modifications to equipment and operations that would save energy.
STEP 07 : Review the list of practical modifications with the owner/operator and select those that will be analyzed further.
STEP 08 : For each practical measure, estimate the potential savings in energy cost and its energy Index.
STEP 09 : Estimate the investment cost and simple payback of each practical measure.
STEP 10 : A list of measures considered but felt to be impractical, with brief reasons for rejecting each.
