People's Leasing & Finance PLC (PLC) has etched its name in Sri Lanka's sustainability landscape as its Classique by PLC center becomes the nation's first-ever EDGE-certified facility. This landmark achievement underscores PLC's commitment to environmental responsibility and innovation in building design.

The EDGE certification program, established by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, offers a tangible and credible solution for businesses to assess and showcase the financial advantages of constructing green buildings. By achieving EDGE certification, Classique demonstrates its dedication to reducing its environmental footprint while simultaneously strengthening its appeal to investors seeking sustainable ventures.

his success story is a collaborative effort. PLC partnered with co-energi Pvt Ltd., a leading consultant in the field, to ensure Classique met the stringent EDGE certification requirements. Through co-energi's expertise, Classique was able to optimize its design and construction practices to achieve significant reductions in energy and water consumption as well as reduce CO2 emission.

The EDGE certification serves a critical purpose in Sri Lanka's ongoing journey towards a greener future. It provides a standardized framework for evaluating the environmental performance of buildings, enabling businesses to make informed decisions that benefit both the environment and their bottom line. PLC's pioneering achievement in obtaining Sri Lanka's first EDGE certification paves the way for a new era of sustainable building practices within the country. Hirdaramani Clothing Pvt Ltd – Puthukudiyruppu

LEED® PLATINUM (84) NC v2009

Hirdaramani Clothing Puthukkudiyruppu factory is the 21st Hirdaramani owned and operated apparel manufacturing facility. It pursued LEED New Constructions v2009 and obtained Platinum certification in 2017 with 84 points. Key sustainability features of the project includes 48% energy saving with 13% renewable energy, 100% outdoor water saving, 40% indoor water savings and 75% construction waste diversion from landfilling.
